I’m Jonathan Jackson. I'm a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, educator, storyteller, and strategist with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals, leaders, and communities through transition, growth, and repair. My work has always lived at the intersection of people and systems. Before becoming a therapist, and after over 15 years experience in the nonprofit and public sectors, I spent years as a coach and consultant, partnering with nonprofit executives, educators, and social-impact leaders navigating burnout, identity strain, and complex relational dynamics. In those spaces, I found myself doing deeply human work: holding emotional weight, facilitating vulnerable conversations, and helping people move through change. But I was doing it without the clinical grounding to fully support what was emerging. That realization led to a deliberate shift. I pursued formal training as a therapist to deepen my ability to hold that work with care, rigor, and accountability; to pair instinct with structure, and presence with practice. KARIMA was born from that integration. A space where counseling, coaching, and consulting come together. A space where personal growth, relational health, and organizational impact are not treated as separate conversations, but as connected layers of the same work. At the core of my approach is a simple idea: Everything moves at the rhythm of the stories that shape our lives. The stories we tell ourselves. The stories we tell each other. The stories influencing how we think, communicate, and act. My work helps people slow down long enough to see those patterns clearly, understand what’s shaping them, and begin to move differently. My clinical work draws from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and relational modalities including the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Across therapy, coaching, and consulting, I work collaboratively, treating people as experts in their own lives while helping them examine the language, stories, and relational patterns that shape how they move through the world. I’m known for a steady presence and thoughtful questions. Not because I have all the answers - but because the right questions, asked at the right time, can change how someone sees everything. Whether I’m working with an individual, partners, a family, or a leadership team, the work is the same at its core. I help people: - understand what’s shaping their thoughts and actions - reconnect with what matters - practice new ways of thinking, relating, and acting that feel both aligned and sustainable I don’t believe healing is about fixing what’s broken. I believe it’s about rhythm. About restoring alignment between who you are, what you value, and how you live. And when that alignment begins to take hold, the impact extends beyond the individual; into relationships, into organizations, and into the systems we’re all part of. When people are given the right language, tools, and space to reflect, meaningful change becomes possible. Not just for them, but for everything they’re connected to.

LICENSED THERAPY (COUNSELING) SERVICES

Diverse Hands Unity

My work is grounded in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), narrative, and other systemic practices that help individuals, couples, families, and groups re-author the stories that keep them stuck.

Sessions are equal parts reflection and forward motion, rooted in empathy, guided by rhythm, and oriented toward possibility. I listen carefully for patterns, values, and strengths, and help translate insight into language and action that can be lived outside of session.

I don’t rush change. I hold space for and co-create it. I believe therapy should feel less like correction and more like a return to rhythm; not fixing what’s broken, but remembering what’s already present, and choosing what comes next with intention.

Relationship Therapy

Rebuild connection. Relearn each other. Reauthor your story. Together.

Relationship therapy at KARIMA supports people in intimate relationships of all kinds: romantic, partnered, non-monogamous, blended, or evolving. I help partners understand patterns of disconnection, strengthen communication, and rebuild trust and emotional safety. The work is collaborative and relational, focusing on how each person experiences the relationship and how the relationship itself functions as a system. Therapy offers space to slow down, be heard, and move toward greater clarity, alignment, and intentional connection, whether the goal is repair, growth, or navigating a meaningful transition.

Family Therapy

Make room for every voice. Restore connection. Shape what's next. Together.

Family therapy at KARIMA provides a space for families to better understand one another, improve communication, and navigate conflict or transition together. I work with families facing parenting challenges, life changes, generational tension, or shifting roles and expectations. Rather than assigning blame, therapy focuses on relationships, patterns, and strengths, helping families find new ways of relating that support connection, respect, and resilience. The goal is not perfection, but healthier interaction and shared understanding.

Group Therapy

Find your people. Share the weight. Grow in connection.

Group therapy at KARIMA offers a powerful opportunity for growth through shared experience and collective insight. Groups are designed around common themes such as relationships, identity, emotional regulation, life transitions, or personal development. In a supportive and structured environment, participants gain perspective, practice new ways of relating, and recognize that they are not alone in their struggles. Groups balance reflection, skill-building, and connection, creating space for both individual insight and community-based healing.

Individual Therapy

Reconnect with yourself. Clarify what matters. Move forward with intention.

Individual therapy at KARIMA is a collaborative space to slow down, gain clarity, and reconnect with your own capacity for growth. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, identity questions, and the pressure of holding it all together. Rather than focusing on what’s “wrong,” therapy centers on understanding what’s getting in the way, building on your existing strengths, and identifying practical steps forward. Sessions are personalized, attuned, and grounded in real life, helping you move with greater confidence, self-trust, and steadiness.

THERAPY ACCESS FUND

Helping Hands Extended

Therapy Access Fund

Therapy should be both exceptional and accessible, but for too many people, cost remains a barrier to care. The Therapy Access Fund exists to close that gap. Contributions to the fund directly support individuals, couples, families, and groups who are seeking meaningful, high-quality therapy but may not have the financial resources to access it at standard rates. Your gift helps subsidize therapy for community members navigating economic hardship, life transitions, systemic inequities, or moments when support is needed most. This fund allows me to say “yes” more often. To people who are ready to do the work, show up honestly, and invest in their healing, but who need flexibility and support to make therapy possible. It also allows me to practice sustainably, without sacrificing the quality or depth of care. Every contribution makes an impact. Some gifts help cover a single session. Others help sustain ongoing care over weeks or months. All of them help ensure that therapy remains a space of dignity, choice, and possibility, not something reserved for only those with the fewest barriers. When you give to the Therapy Access Fund, you are investing in more than individual sessions. You are investing in healthier relationships, stronger families, and a more supported community.
